pretty peacefully (for a change) when loud voices woke me up about 1:30 – not a good feeling when you live alone in an ordinarily quiet neighborhood. So I quickly got up and looked out the window – blue police lights were flashing next door. Obviously, it took me a little while to get back to sleep after that, and my dreams showed it.
The first scene I remember was in some sort of display area; I’m not sure if it was a store, a festival, or what. There was a “booth” selling books, but the author sold out and tacked up a note that said anyone else could use the space. I realized it would be a perfect opportunity if only I had an actual inventory, but I had an idea to improvise – I secured permission, then quickly made posters with the title and those tacky tearaway strips with the web address for ordering.
Then I was helping someone else who was looking for a place to hang a huge picture/poster type thing in a restaurant window. It was of a famous person (I recognized him in the dream, but no clue now) and it turned out that he wanted to hang it so that he could have someone take a photograph of him sitting next to it – from a certain angle, it would appear that they were actually present and sitting next to each other.
The next thing I knew, I was comforting someone who had spent a night having nightmares about Reconstruction, and oddly enough I was assuring her that I’d had similar nightmares the night before, too. Next thing I remember, I was talking to Mart and Di about how their honeymoon had been the best time of their lives, until she was arrested the moment she returned. Apparently, it was a case of mistaken identity based on a forged email and false IPs… After hanging on to the same email address for years, that was what finally convinced the BWG’s to change to their own domain.
